February 2023 Project Updates

February-2023-Update

This is the second update of 2023. We have many new things in the works. Here we go.

  • Tree Trimming - Community project day for tree trimming - FEBRUARY 25TH. Bring gloves, branch loppers and energy to the pool at 9 am. We will be using the new community pole chain saw to trim several trees around the lake and on the greenbelt walkway. Trash bags will be provided.

  • Tree Removal - We have identified several trees along Louetta Rd. (within our property line) that are dead and pose a hazard to residents in the community and motorists on Louetta Rd. They will be removed along with the "Frankentree" which is located just inside the entrance gate immediately to the right. All trees should be removed by the end of the month.

  • Street Signs - The board has approved a move to get new street signs for the entire neighborhood. This should be done by end of February/middle of March and will require a volunteer group in the community to help install the signs.

  • Website - We need to do a little refreshing on our website and this will be taking place within the next two months. The community will be saving money since we will be changing over to a platform that is free. Beta testing will be needed prior to the move but for users, there should be no change.

  • Pool House Re-painting - The board has elected to pursue updated bids to get the pool house re-painted this year. We will only be painting the pool house and the pool entrance gate. We will leave the surrounding wrought iron fence painting for the future.

  • Mailbox Maintenance - Our community mailboxes are rusting and looking faded and tattered. We are researching costs to sand them down and repaint them. This will be another community volunteer project that we are hoping to get done before the hot weather hits.

  • Community Document Shredding - The board is exploring the possibility of bringing in a commercial document shredding company as a service for the neighborhood. If we do this, it will likely be on a Saturday in March. Stay tuned.

  • Social Events - The social committee has been busy planning our agenda which includes a few new events. Specific dates have not been set for all activities but this is what we will be doing:

o April 1st - spring celebration
o April 29th - community garage sale (same date as The Settlement & Stable Gate)
o June 24th - Lemonade Wars
o Date not set - community fishing tournament
o Date not set - Pet photo contest
o Date not set (Fall) - Neighborhood Market bizarre
