August 2022 Project Updates
This is the seventh project update of 2022. Here is what we are working on.
Lake –
The defective underwater electrical connection that was installed with the new fountain has been replaced and the fountain is working great. We continue to add water as the water level goes down due to evaporation and the unprecedented heat we are experiencing. We need rain!
Well lift station –
We have completed all repairs to the fence surrounding the lift station. Officials from MUD #5 have inspected it and complimented us on the new structure that was built to cover the well. This is a big improvement to the rickety fence that was covered with graffiti and surrounding a weed-infested pump station that was difficult to access.
Website/Social Events –
There will be a Goodbye to Summer Pool Party on the 13th of August to get ourselves and kids ready for the school year! Please join your friends and neighbors poolside for some food, drinks, sun, and splashing! This will be a BYO food, drinks, and grills! More details can be found on the community website and Facebook page.
TGIF (Thank Goodness it’s Friday) is a community adult social held at the pool during the summertime from 7-9pm on the first Friday of each month. Bring your own drinks and snacks and join in for some relaxing and fun conversation with friends!
The Fall Garage Sale will be held on either the 15th or 22nd of October. We are coordinating with the surrounding communities. Rest assured, our gates will be open early and the breakfast tacos will be on site! Be sure to stay tuned on the community website. Reserveatcypresscreek.com
Traffic signs –
We have replaced seven faded STOP signs throughout the subdivision and lowered the speed limit signs on our streets. In time we plan to look at replacing the street signs throughout the community as many of those signs have severely faded. We will likely include this is the 2023 budget.
Landscaping –
We have completed our community-wide sprinkler survey. We originally planned to contract this effort out, but thanks to Rick Fisher, Mike Willand and Pat Schoeller, we did it ourselves. Over a four-day period, volunteers replaced about 75 spray nozzles, 12 rotator sprinkler heads, 10 pop-up sprinklers, 4 drip spouts for our cement planters and excavated another 8 sprinkler risers in the process of getting all of our sprinklers working. In the process of these repairs, we recovered three non-working zones and identified another four valve stations that needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, we ran into several underground electrical problems that are beyond our capacity to fix. Additionally, we need to replace the two master control panels (19 years old) that send signals to our sprinkler stations. We have received estimates to replace these panels, repair the underground breaks and replace the broken valve stations and the board is currently weighing those options to consider repairs. Stay tuned.
Gate keypad kiosk –
Sometime on either July 24th or 25th someone collided with the brick kiosk outside our gates. No one stepped up to admit to the damage nor did we have any witnesses. This has happened before, but in this case, the kiosk was significantly damaged and the interior was exposed to the elements. We had to get on this repair quickly and we are happy to report that repairs were completed on August 1st. We added a metal post next to the kiosk in the hopes that errant drivers will hit that instead of hitting the kiosk. Funding for this was covered by a previous settled insurance claim for damage to the kiosk that had not been utilized.
