July Project Updates

July Project Updates 2022

Upcoming Community Board meeting

JULY 12TH @ 7 PM AT THE POOL. Bring your own chair and join us for financial reports and other updates.

This is the sixth project update of 2022. Here is what we are working on.

Lake - The new fountain has been installed and has been working great. We had a bit of a problem in the past week or so with an electrical breaker being tripped but that has been fixed and once again, the fountain is good to go. Because of the extreme heat and drought so far this summer, we have been adding water to the lake to keep the level up. We have also been feeding the recently stocked fish with approved pond meal in the hopes of growing our new fish population

Well Lift Station - Many of you did not know that our community water is provided by our own well. It is located just south of the fence line behind the new chain link fence along Telge Rd. before you get to The Reserve hiking entrance. (You can see it from Telge Rd. while driving). The well is surrounded by a wooden fence that currently has graffiti and needs repair. MUD district #5 has asked us to make repairs to the fence and this has become a priority for us. Look for that work to be completed within the next two weeks.

Speaking of the MUD district, you may have noticed that they have recently cleaned up the water detention area behind the subdivision. They scraped the bottom of the streambed, regraded the sides, and cleaned out the refuse in the streambed so that water will flow better. This was done with the upcoming hurricane season approaching.

Website - We have had several requests from residents for the access password to open our resident directory. If you are interested in gaining access to that document, please email the board at the Yahoo email address. The social committee has produced some clever ideas for neighborhood get-togethers. Look for them to begin soon and watch the website for postings with specific information.

Traffic signs - Many of our community STOP signs have faded and are difficult to read. The board has approved the replacement of many of these signs and we will be readjusting some of the speed limit signs throughout the subdivision as well. Look for that to be completed within the next couple of weeks.

Landscaping - Because of an unforeseen situation involving our contractor's family, we have had to put off the sprinkler analysis for another couple of weeks. We will get that done asap.

The cement planters on top of the walls outside the gate entrance now have drip sprinklers that are working, so we replanted several new asparagus ferns to get some greenery back into those areas. A big thank you to Mike and Reyna Willand and Cheri Kline for helping with that.

Another group of volunteers including Rick Fisher, Rachel Rhodes, Mike Krause, and Debbie Gonzalez helped spread ten yards of Kiddie Cushion mulch into our playground area last week. We had not refreshed the mulch in the playground since 2019 and we were due. Our volunteer group saved us about $500 in labor, so thank them when you see them!
